4. Zack Baun, LB/EDGE, New Orleans Saints

Round 3, Pick 74

Similarly to Jones, Zack Baun was considered by most to be a fringe first-round prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft class. There were plenty of teams who would have made sense for Baun in the back-half of the first round and early second. I am not surprised that he was not a first-round selection, but I am completely baffled by him falling out of the second round as well.

Baun is an extremely active and athletic defender who shows a ton of natural versatility on the field. He primarily played edge rusher in college and produced at a high level with 12.5 sacks in 2019. However, he is a bit small to consistently play the position at the next level.

That being said, Baun also showed a ton of upside when asked to drop back into coverage. Baun is a smooth and athletic defender who shines in short zone coverage. His instincts against the run are a bit limited, but he has the sideline-to-sideline range worth getting excited about.

The New Orleans Saints entered the 2020 NFL Draft with off-ball linebacker as their biggest need on the roster. Baun is a first-round caliber talent who the Saints were able to land in the third round. Add in the fact that he can help them fill their biggest position of need on the roster is just the cherry on top. Make no mistake about it, Baun was a fantastic pick by the Saints and one of the best value selections in the entire 2020 NFL Draft class.
