The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are putting together a fantastic 2020 NFL Draft class.  Their latest selection, interior rusher Khalil Davis, is no exception.

Quietly, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are putting together one of the best 2020 NFL Draft classes. It all began with their selection of Tristan Wirfs in the first round, where they found a fantastic player to protect Tom Brady from the right tackle position. After Wirfs, the Bucs found great value on Day 2, taking exciting defensive back Antoine Winfield Jr in the second round and running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn in the third.

There is also a lot to like about their fifth-round selection of wide receiver Tyler Johnson, who should be able to come in and immediately make plays for Brady in the passing game. The Bucs have been able to find great value throughout the 2020 NFL Draft and they continue to do so with their selection in the sixth round.

Khalil Davis was one of my favorite late-round players in this draft class and he could quickly grow into an impact player on the defensive side of the ball for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Davis is extremely quick off of the ball and does a great job of creating pressure as a one-gap penetrator. He has an explosive first step and gets great upfield burst as an interior pass rusher. Davis lacks ideal length on the inside, but his raw upside as an interior pass rusher is impressive.

While he will likely always be a situational player at the next level, Khalil Davis could come in and quickly thrive in that role for the Bucs. I would expect them to bring him along slowly, but give him opportunities to prove himself every now and again on obvious passing downs.

Make no mistake about it, Khalil Davis is a talented football player who could be a real impact player at the next level.
