2020 NFL Draft: Putting a letter grade on all 32 first-round picks
The Tennessee Titans snagging Isaiah Wilson at No. 29 was sneakily one of my favorite picks in the back half of the first round. Wilson is a massive right tackle prospect who shows fantastic raw power at the point of attack. He clears holes with ease in the run game and does a nice job of using his long arms to keep defenders away from his quarterback in pass protection.
Wilson lacks ideal athleticism, but he has adequate foot quickness for a big offensive lineman. He is a perfect fit for the power-rushing offensive of the Titans and should be able to step in and immediately replace Jack Conklin at the right tackle position. Wilson is a great fit what this team likes to do and he fills an obvious need up front. I like this pick.
2020 NFL Draft Grade: B
The Miami Dolphins traded down from No. 26, assisting the Green Bay Packers in their trade-up for a quarterback. With their third and final first-round selection, Miami brought in Noah Igbinoghene, an exciting cornerback prospect out of Auburn.
I never would have expected the Dolphins to select a cornerback in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. After signing Byron Jones to a massive free-agent contract this offseason, the Dolphins have arguably the best cornerback duo in the entire NFL (Jones along with Xavien Howard). On top of that, they have obvious holes to address on both sides of the ball.
Noah Igbinoghene is a converted receiver who has only played defensive back for the last two years. He has a ton of long-term upside at the position, showing tremendous physicality and impressive raw athleticism. However, Igbinoghene is a bit of a project player who may not be ready to make an immediate impact. I don’t hate a team taking Igbinoghene in this range, I am just confused why the Dolphins were the team to do it. Perhaps a Howard trade is on the horizon?
