Ohio State. Chase Young. player. 58. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. EDGE. 2

No surprise at No. 2. With the second overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins stood pat and simply took the best player on the board. No, edge rusher is not the biggest need for this team, but Chase Young is simply too good of a player to ignore.

Young is the premier defensive prospect in this 2020 NFL Draft class and considered to be the top overall prospect by most in the industry. He has a lightning-quick first step, bends around the edge with ease and closes on the quarterback in an instant. Young has a rare combination of size, athleticism and power that will make him an immediate problem for opposing offenses at the next level.

Washington undoubtedly has larger needs at other positions, but adding Young to their defensive line mix takes that unit to the next level. A starting front four of Young, Jonathan Allen, Da’Ron Payne and Montez Sweat is fantastic. Add in guys like Matt Ioannidis and Ryan Kerrigan, and the Redskins clearly have an elite unit filled with top-tier talent and depth.

This one had to be pretty easy. In Chase Young, new head coach Ron Rivera not only snags the best player in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he also finds himself a player who he can build his defense around.
