2020 NFL Draft: Putting a letter grade on all 32 first-round picks
As per usual, the Seattle Seahawks make a confusing selection in the first round of the draft. I like Jordyn Brooks as a prospect. He is a tough, aggressive and athletic linebacker prospect who shows impressive football IQ at all times. I do not hate him as a late first-round value, but he was not the best linebacker on the board and the position is not much of a need for the Seahawks.
The Seahawks are a talented and competitive team that should be working hard to fill holes to help them win right now. Brooks will help them a bit in the short-term, but he is not going to see a ton of immediate defensive snaps. Good football player, but questionable value and odd fit.
2020 NFL Draft Grade: C
What a slam dunk selection for the Baltimore Ravens. It seems like they do this every year. Baltimore just sits back, waits and then takes the prospect who has fallen down the board and turns him into a star. In the 2020 NFL Draft, Patrick Queen was the prospect who fell too far and he also happens to fill the biggest need on their roster.
Queen is an incredibly athletic and instinctive linebacker prospect who diagnoses plays extremely well and does a fantastic job of getting in position to make the play. He is a solid and reliable run defender who also shows a ton of upside in pass coverage. Snagging Queen at No. 28 was a best-case scenario for the Baltimore Ravens. An ideal situation where the best player available fills a major position of need.
