Indianapolis Colts trade-up targets in the 2020 NFL Draft
2. Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame; Harrison Bryant, TE, Florida Atlantic
The Colts could find themselves moving into the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft to be the first team to take a tight end off the board.
Right now, no one is really projecting a tight end to go in round one, but that doesn’t mean the Colts couldn’t come into the picture and make some noise.
After losing Eric Ebron to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Colts certainly need someone to go along with Jack Doyle at the tight end position.
Opinions vary about who is the top tight end prospect in this class, so you could go with a number of different guys here.
Cole Kmet has the prototypical all-around tight end skill set as a blocker and solid receiver.
Harrison Bryant won the Mackey Award as the top tight end in college football last year with 65 catches for 1,004 yards and seven touchdowns.
Albert Okwuegbunam wasn’t really on anyone’s first-round radar but his stellar performance at the 2020 Scouting Combine could change that.
If the Colts determine that a tight end is essential and they’re worried about another team in round one taking one (maybe the Packers at 30) they could jump up ahead and get the top guy on their board.
