Indianapolis Colts trade-up targets in the 2020 NFL Draft
1. Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
Although in my final mock draft I have Jordan Love going in a surprise pick to the Los Angeles Chargers (6th overall), there is definitely a possibility that Love will be there into the 20s.
It just so happens that there are a variety of teams who could be looking to trade out of the 20s, including the Seattle Seahawks at 27 overall.
If Seattle wants to trade out of 27, it might only cost the Colts an extra third-round pick to come up off of 34 and get a guy like Love. That might be worth it.
Although Love was inconsistent in his final year at Utah State, the talent he has is tough to ignore. There have been comparisons to Patrick Mahomes with his overall skill set as a player.
For the Colts, Love would be able to sit a year behind Philip Rivers and learn the ropes of being a pro while also getting coached up by Frank Reich. That sounds like a pretty ideal situation for a young QB to step into.
