Complete seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft for the Atlanta Falcons
If the Atlanta Falcons can land Javon Kinlaw, he would be a solid pick at No. 16 overall and would be an immediate impact on defense. Kinlaw would pair well alongside Grady Jarrett, who has been the anchor of the Falcons defensive line.
In back-to-back seasons at South Carolina, he put up solid numbers as a starter. In 2018, he had 38 tackles, 21 solo tackles and 4.5 sacks. In 2019, his number of tackles were similar but had six sacks and two fumble recoveries as well.
Kinlaw is the second-best interior defensive lineman of the 2020 prospects and only is slightly behind Derrick Brown from Auburn. My option is he is the best fit for the Falcons if he is available when they make the pick in the first round.
Another direction general manager Thomas Dimitroff may go is cornerback with this pick and they have been rumored to like Florida corner C.J. Henderson. While I believe the Falcons desperately need a cornerback after they released veteran Desmond Trufant, I do not believe Henderson is the best pick or even one of the top corners.
I really like Kristian Fulton from LSU and also Trevon Diggs from Alabama as my favorite cornerbacks in this draft who I have projected around 20-30 in the latter portion of round one. So the Falcons could take trade offers for the 16th overall selection if Kinlaw is already off the board and slide back to the 20s to land one of those cornerbacks.
