Round 2

WR. 36. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 59. player. Clemson. Tee Higgins

Dorsett, who they brought in free agency, is more depth in the slot and can be used a rotational deep threat. David Moore disappointed last season and Seattle drafted John Ursua late in last year’s draft, and he will be competing with Malik Turner, Penny Hart, and Cody Thompson for a roster spot. Seattle missed another starting-caliber receiver in the playoffs last year and can upgrade on the outside opposite of D.K. Metcalf.

Getting this Clemson wide receiver in the 2nd round is steal, as Tee Higgins would complement Metcalf’s speed on the outside and Tyler Lockett‘s route running in the slot. The 6-foot-4, 216-pound junior brings something different to the table, as he was a red zone monster and would give Wilson a possession receiver they need in that offense.

Higgins had 59 catches in both 2018 and 2019, eclipsing over 1,000 yards last season and added one more touchdown in 2019 from his 12 touchdown total in 2018 with 13.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Lucas Niang. 64. player. OT. Texas Christian. 36

Seattle normally tends to not address their offensive line early in the draft, excluding former first-round pick Germain Ifedi (who did not bring back as a free agent). They also did not bring back George Fant (who signed with the New York Jets) and even though they signed both Shell/Ogbuehi, more competition for the starting right tackle spot is needed.

Duane Brown is a sound protector at the left tackle position (with Jamarco Jones backing him up) but Wilson needs to be protected on the other side as well.

The 6-foot-6, 315-pound senior is currently rehabbing from a hip injury but if the Seahawks clear him medically, Lucas Niang would be a good fit for them with this pick. His 2018 season at TCU was vastly different from his 2019 season, where he was adjusting his technique and played through his injury. If they can get his 2018 season from him fully healthy, Niang can be an instant upgrade at right tackle.
