Jaguars 7-round mock draft: Building around Gardner Minshew
By Evan Bachman
At Arizona State, Eno Benjamin had two thousand yard seasons on the ground and caught 35 or more passes in two seasons as well. He has good receiving skills to be utilized, especially on third down. As a runner, he’s pretty much average as an athlete, but he does have good vision. He shouldn’t be a lead back, but he has enough of a skill set to be a solid second option in the NFL.
Anfernee Jennings is a typical mid round edge rusher. He doesn’t have elite athleticism and he’s a bit undersized, but he does have good production in a good production in a good conference. At Alabama last season as a fifth year senior, he was good at both rushing the passer and stopping the run, as he recorded 83 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and eight sacks.
Trey Adams is one massive dude at 6-foot-8, 318 pounds and by watching his film he actually moves pretty well for somebody of his size. However, he didn’t back that up at the combine by testing poorly athletically. Also, he didn’t perform up to expectation at Washington.
Last season he gave up 18 pressures including three sacks. He’s worthy of a mid round selection because of his potential, but it would be hard to justify a higher draft pick on somebody who didn’t produce in college.
Jared Pinkney fits the mold of a mid round prospect. He’s shown that he can produce, but hasn’t done it consistently. In 2018 he looked like a potential high round pick candidate with 50 catches, 774 yards, and seven touchdowns. However, he didn’t replicate that success this season. Another thing that isn’t working in his favor is he didn’t test well at the combine, especially in the 40 with a time of 4.96.
