The Green Bay Packers lost Bryan Bulaga to free agency and replaced him with a band-aid in former Lions right tackle, Rick Wagner. While he is a fine veteran option, the Packers should look to finding a long-term solution in the 2020 NFL Draft.

While the overall tackle class is pretty deep, there are four names that are thought to be sure-fire top-15 picks. Those players are Jedrick Wills, Tristan Wirfs, Mekhi Becton, and Andrew Thomas. If one does happen to slip a little bit, I think the Packers would be wise to trade-up and land themselves a young talent that could contribute right away.

Of those top talents, I think the most likely name to slide a little bit is Andrew Thomas out of Georiga. This isn’t so much a knock on Thomas as much as it is a prediction based on the hype the other three players have received throughout the draft process. Whether it be due to the freakish combine workouts of Wirfs and Becton or the physically dominant tape of Wills, Thomas, unfortunately, suffers because he’s simply consistent without any one dominant trait.

That being said, Thomas has all of the physical tools you look for in a tackle prospect and could be an immediate plug-and-play option on the right side in Green Bay. He is long, excels in the run game and shows plus instincts that make him worth a potential trade-up scenario for the Packers.
