Scouting Report. OT. Georgia. 9. Pick Analysis. Andrew Thomas. player. 59

In this mock draft scenario, the Miami Dolphins have already added Justin Herbert to be their franchise quarterback. As we talked about earlier, Herbert does not work well under pressure. The Dolphins must work hard to improve their offensive line if Herbert is going to have any chance of success in Miami. Here, they put their chips on the table and trade up for a rock-solid left tackle.

Andrew Thomas is arguably the most NFL-ready prospect in the entire 2020 NFL Draft class. Thomas started all three of his seasons at Georgia and was a two-time All-American. He is not the most athletic offensive tackle in the world, but Thomas moves well enough to get the job done and is extremely smart in pass protection.

Thomas does a great job of putting himself in a position to protect the quarterback. He can anchor at an extremely high level and understands how to let the edge rusher overrun the play and ride him past the pocket.

Thomas is also a high-level run defender who is extremely powerful at the point of attack. Thomas is quick off of the ball and has extremely strong hands. As both a run blocker and pass protector, Thomas is an extremely dependable player who can come in and immediately handle left tackle duties. The Dolphins need to find legitimate starters at offensive tackle immediately and Thomas is the most NFL-ready player at his position in the 2020 NFL Draft. He is worth the trade up.
