50. Pick Analysis. CB. Ohio State. Jeffrey Okudah. 6. player. Scouting Report

This scenario works out extremely well for the Detroit Lions. After trading down a few spots and picking up some extra draft capital, the Lions are still able to land the guy who they probably would have taken at No. 3. Make no mistake about it, trading down is the way to go for the Lions.

Jeffrey Okudah is not only the best cornerback prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft class, but he is also the best cornerback prospect in recent memory. After Darius Slay forced their hand and the Lions traded him away earlier this offseason, cornerback stands out as a major need for this team. Signing Desmond Trufant helps but Okudah is an actual potential replacement for such a big-time player like Slay.

Okudah is ridiculously quick and smooth in coverage, showing the ability to easily mirror most opposing receivers. He also shows fantastic natural instincts in zone coverage, baiting opposing quarterbacks into making poor decisions. Okudah also breaks on the ball in an instant and shows tremendous overall ball skills.

Simply put, Okudah is a shut-down corner in the making. He has the ability to come in and make an immediate impact at the next level and his long-term upside is absolutely massive. Easy pick for Detroit here.
