Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. South Carolina. Javon Kinlaw. 15. 45. IDL. player

The top three receivers coming off of the board with the last three picks is a tough scenario for the Denver Broncos. They would undoubtedly love to find an elite target for Drew Lock in the passing game, but the board just did not fall well well for them here.

With Ruggs, Jeudy and Lamb gone, the Broncos could go with a cornerback or a linebacker. They could also make a bit of a reach at offensive tackle if they really love a player. However, simply sitting back and taking the best available player makes the most sense for this team. Javon Kinlaw is the best player on the board and he would also fill a minor position of need for this team.

Kinlaw is a powerful and explosive interior defensive lineman who gets off of the ball quickly and creates consistent pressure as a one-gap penetrator. He shows impressive upfield burst as both a pass rusher and run defender and shows some nice power in his lower half. Kinlaw also has long arms and shows the ability to win with both speed and power in pass-rush situations.

Kinlaw is a bit of an underdeveloped player, but his long-term upside on the interior is absolutely massive. Denver could afford to bring Kinlaw along relatively slowly, putting him in situations to succeed early in his career while he learns to take on a more full-time role. When it comes down to it, Kinlaw is the single-best player on the board and would help take the Broncos’ already impressive defensive line to the next level.
