Cleveland Browns: 2020 NFL Draft late-round targets
Of everyone on this list, Wyoming linebacker Logan Wilson is probably the biggest riser and has the best chance of coming off the board in the “early” rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft. Initially going under the radar of many evaluators, Wilson’s production, leadership and consistency is finally starting to get the value that it deserves.
After a redshirt year to begin his Cowboys career, Wilson immediately made an impact in his first season of play, totaling just under 100 tackles, 7.5 for loss, three sacks, three interceptions, three fumble recoveries, four pass deflections and two defensive touchdowns.
Every year after that, Wilson maintained very similarly impressive numbers. His sophomore season he racked up a career-high 111 tackles. This past season, Wilson was the most effective against the passing game than he had ever been with career highs in interceptions (four) and passes defended (seven).
For his four-year Wyoming career, Wilson amassed over 400 tackles, 34.5 for loss, seven sacks, 10 interceptions, three touchdowns, 14 pass breakups, four fumble recoveries and five forced fumbles. Those are the numbers of someone who is always around the football making plays.
In addition to his incredible production, Wilson was a three-year captain at Wyoming. He is a leader of the defense that can be the play-caller on the field, possibly filling the shoes of Joe Schobert right away.
Again, a third-round pick may be necessary to lock up the services of Logan Wilson in the 2020 NFL Draft. But if he does fall out of that range and into the fourth round or later, the Cleveland Browns should jump all over it.
