Taking a look at who the Cleveland Browns should target with their picks in the later round of the 2020 NFL Draft after a strong free agency period.

Cleveland Browns fans should be very pleased with how the offseason has played out so far. After a few very strong free-agent signings, general manager Andrew Berry and the rest of the front office can turn the majority of their attention to this month’s 2020 NFL Draft.

An offseason highlighted by the additions of former Tennessee Titans All-Pro right tackle Jack Conklin and former Atlanta Falcons two-time Pro Bowl tight end Austin Hooper, the Cleveland Browns have been busy adding talented players to their already impressive roster.

Probably just as important as adding these couple top-tier players are the numerous “depth” signings that the Browns were able to complete this offseason as well. These other guys may not have the credentials of Conklin and Hooper, but could see plenty of snaps in 2020 and should contribute in a variety of ways.

Guys like backup quarterback Case Keenum, safeties Karl Joseph and Andrew Sendejo, nickel corner Kevin Johnson, defensive tackle Andrew Billings and defensive end Adrian Clayborn all have pretty significant starting experience and will fill very important roles for the club this season.

So when turning your attention to the 2020 NFL Draft, obviously it is extremely important to nail the first few rounds. That is the team’s best opportunity to land guys with the caliber of Conklin and Hooper, with superstar potential. But you cannot overlook the importance of the later rounds.

If a team is able to find a real hidden gem in the later rounds of the draft, they truly have a leg up on their competition. By nailing the later rounds and finding impactful players throughout the course of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns could find the depth they need across their roster and put themselves in a position to be successful for years to come.

In this article, we’ll take a look at a handful of players that I would target if I were the Cleveland Browns in the back half (rounds 4-7 for this article) of the 2020 NFL Draft. I’ll be basing these selections off of the picks that the Browns currently have and where the majority of evaluators seem to value these particular players and where they tend to go in most mock drafts.
