Edge Rusher

The pass rush was once a major strength of this team, but the Texans struggled to put consistent pressure on the quarterback last season. They only sacked the quarterback 31 times, tied for the sixth-fewest sacks in the entire NFL.

The Texans need to find ways to create more pressure from everywhere, but it begins on the edge. Jacob Martin showed some ability last season, but the Texans need to find a more explosive player to put opposite of Whitney Mercilus. Do not be surprised if edge rusher is the number one priority for this team in the 2020 NFL Draft and they attack their position with their first pick.

Possible EDGE Targets: Yetur Gross-Matos, Terrell Lewis, Josh Uche, Bradlee Anae, Curtis Weaver, Kenny Willekes, Jabari Zuniga, Anfernee Jennings, D.J. Wonnum, Trevis Gipson.

Interior Defensive Lineman

After losing D.J. Reader to the Cincinnati Bengals in free agency, the Houston Texans could be looking for a big man in the middle of the defense in the 2020 NFL Draft. I doubt that they made this position an early-round priority, but I would be surprised if the Texans leave the draft without a run-stuffing defensive tackle added to the mix.

Possible IDL Targets: Davon Hamilton, Rashard Lawrence, Leki Fotu, Jordan Elliott, Benito Jones, McTelvin Agim, Bravvion Roy, Josiah Coatney.
