Second round: Matt Hennessy, C, Temple

Alright, this is a little overkill, is it not?

The first four major moves of the New York Jets’ offseason and their four most valuable resources (top free agent dollars, top two draft choices) all on the offensive line?

Again — it cannot be overstated how important this is for the Jets in the 2020 offseason.

Matt Hennessy is a stud at the center position who is coming into the NFL with knowledge of both gap and zone concepts and an ability to win consistently whether in the run game or in pass protection.

For the Jets, he represents the completion of the rebuilt offensive line and the last piece of the puzzle in protecting Sam Darnold.

Hennessy has experience, plays with balance, and is ready to be the man in charge of this new-look offensive line for Gang Green.

He may lack ideal size for the NFL level, but Hennessy is a hustler and plays with great leverage and athletic ability.
