The New York Jets need to spend the 2020 offseason figuring out how to support quarterback Sam Darnold. How can they do that in the 2020 NFL Draft?

The New York Jets have one objective in the 2020 offseason: Make life better for Sam Darnold.

The Jets made a big move up in the 2018 NFL Draft simply to get into the top three picks in order to secure Darnold, and after two seasons, it’s abundantly clear that they haven’t done enough or made the right moves in order to help him succeed.

Hopefully part of the foundation is in place, but the Jets’ skill positions offensively are a huge question area this offseason, and the offensive line probably needs multiple new starters.

Having a top-flight quarterback seems like a necessity in today’s NFL, but having just a quarterback isn’t going to get you anywhere. The Jets play in a division that’s getting competitive with the Bills making the postseason in 2019 and the Miami Dolphins somehow winning five games despite a clear strategy to tank in 2019.

This offseason is absolutely critical for Gang Green. How will they utilize their 2020 NFL Draft assets to improve this roster?

The Jets will undoubtedly be active in free agency — they seemingly always are — but using The Draft Network’s Mock Draft Machine, you can just about give the Jets an A-plus offseason.
