Pick Analysis. Alabama. Anfernee Jennings. player. 829. Scouting Report. OLB. 33

Similar to fellow teammate and 2020 NFL Draft candidate Terrell Lewis, Anfernee Jennings is a speedy edge rusher who uses finesse and overwhelming quickness to get around his blocker. Much of Baltimore’s current edge-rushing personnel are sturdy outside linebackers who fare better when playing against the run and using their strength to their advantage. A player like Jennings would add a new dimension to Baltimore’s pressure packages.

The reason I selected Jennings over Lewis for the Ravens is that Jennings has been more prominent in pass coverage than Lewis, more often dropping out of coverage and producing more consistently. In Baltimore’s hybrid defense, dropping outside linebackers into coverage can throw off offensive protection schemes and leave blockers left out to hang.

Jennings can be a contributor in both facets of the passing game and make a difference in Baltimore’s pass coverage scheme as well.

Against the run, Jennings does not have the stout frame to hold an edge but can work his way past a blocker with counter moves. Using the momentum of a tackle against themselves, Jennings counters downhill run blocks to the inside and is able to cut his way into the backfield for tackles for loss.

Jennings will never be a run-stopping outside linebacker at only 259 lbs but is capable of making a difference with an aggressive downhill mentality against the run-blocker.
