Super Bowl Sunday is finally here! This evening, the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will face off in the biggest game of the year and the winner will hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
This feels like an extremely close matchup between two of the best teams that the NFL has to offer. The matchup of this game will be Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs against the 49ers loaded defensive unit.
Mahomes was not as dominant this year as he was during last season’s MVP performance, but he has really turned it on in recent weeks. Mahomes has proved why he is one of the best players in the NFL throughout this playoff run and will undoubtedly be a difficult player for the 49ers to keep in check on Sunday.
The Chiefs offense is loaded with explosive playmakers all over the field and Mahomes can get them the ball in seemingly any situation. That being said, the 49ers will undoubtedly be a formidable opponent.
This 49ers defense has fantastic talent at all three levels. In particular, they loaded up front where they can rotate talented players on the defensive line and consistently put pressure on the passer. Nick Bosa has had an incredible season and will look to make a consistent impact in this game. Also, keep an eye on Dee Ford who would love to have a big game in the Super Bowl against his former team.
49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is not as dynamic of a playmaker as Mahomes, but he is undoubtedly a good player in his own right. The 49ers also have an incredible rushing attack that can be difficult for any team to stop. The Chiefs defense has been playing well down the stretch, but they will have their hands full against this impressive well-rounded offensive attack that Kyle Shanahan has put together.
