Tua Tagovailoa. 5. 59. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Quarterback. Alabama. player

The Miami Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa are a pair that I have linked together since my first 2020 NFL draft mock, and they have been together ever since. It makes so much sense to me that it might make too much sense, but I’ve talked myself into it. I don’t see a healthy Tua falling below the Dolphins’ first pick.

Again, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Miami jump up to three to ensure that they get him if they get a good word regarding his health. At this point, Tua isn’t even my QB2 but I think he will inevitably be drafted as such come April.

Despite his health concerns, Tua has a ton of hype and potential. When healthy, there aren’t many boxes that Tua doesn’t check. The lefty is very smart and has a great feel for the game and opposing defenses. He has great touch on deep throws and good zip to fit balls in tight windows. He is also very mobile and is a threat to run if you don’t keep him contained in the pocket.

The mantra coming into the 2019 season for the Dolphins was “Tank for Tua”. They both seemed to be on a crash course for a marriage at the number one pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. While the Dolphins won more games than most expected, Tua missed the last portion of the year with a hip injury. Now they have a chance to meet at five, and I’d be shocked to see them pass.
