First off, the guys welcome the listeners to a new decade and Nate vents about the Saints’ loss (2:00). It was another tough send-off for this team, a team that didn’t get it done early on running the ball, and it wasn’t Brees’ best game. Also, Nate does talk about the call many are talking about, the push-off. Was it or wasn’t it?
Then, Jake lets Nate rip through his Saints mock (9:50). Jake has the Saints taking Trey Smith in round one, while Nate is focused on Tyler Biadasz. In the third round, Jake selects Devin Duvernay, while Nate would be good with someone like Michael Pittman Jr. Jake goes through his picks on day three, taking Jordyn Brooks, Davon Hamilton, and A.J. Green. At the end of it, Nate discusses why taking a wide receiver early may not be the move.
Then the guys get into the news, but first, they discuss needing news music, which Nate samples (20:25). Tua Tagovailoa is officially in (21:26), and Detroit might be the biggest winner at the number three pick (22:30).
Which team is the best fit for Tua? The guys discuss Miami trading up, how they could build up their roster with their other picks after Tua, along with the Las Vegas Raiders being a sleeper in the Tua sweepstakes (26:47). Also, Jerry Jeudy declares and Henry Ruggs III is in too. Also, Jalen Hurts is in for the Senior Bowl (33:40).
Plus, the Patriots are out of the playoffs (37:17)! Derrick Henry is certified good, and the Titans could be the team with a luxury pick in the draft in April with the group they have.
The guys then go into first-round targets for the eliminated wild card teams: the Saints, Eagles, Bills, and Patriots (39:45). Nate brings up a great one for the Eagles!
Then, the guys get into questions (52:50) and discuss what the Bears could do in round two, where Tua will go, whether or not Jonathan Taylor‘s fumbling and usage hurts his draft stock, and more!
