The New Orleans Saints suffered another excruciating loss in the playoffs, and now it’s draft season for them. Who could they take in the 2020 NFL Draft?

Another football season has come and gone for the New Orleans Saints, and like the last two seasons, it ended in a bitter defeat. After giving up the Minneapolis Miracle and the no-call in the NFC Championship last season, New Orleans put together a 13-3 season and looked primed for a deep run. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be.

The Saints fell to the Minnesota Vikings 26-20 in overtime, and of course, the Vikings scored on what looked like an offensive pass interference from tight end Kyle Rudolph.

Now the Saints are headed to the offseason once again after falling short, and questions definitely arise for them, especially at the quarterback position. Both Drew Brees and Teddy Bridgewater will become free agents in a short time, and it seems unlikely they can keep both under contract. It doesn’t feel like Brees is done, so he will likely be back, meaning Bridgewater could move on.

If that does in fact become the case, the Saints are now in the territory of looking for a quarterback. The only issue with that is they only have five picks in this draft, and with Brees coming back, the Saints need to focus on reloading for (possibly) one last run with Brees at the helm.

So with that as the plan, how will the Saints attack the 2020 NFL Draft? There are certain positions they must address and need to be smart with their selections. Let’s take a look at how the draft could shake out for them in April.
