Las Vegas Raiders

Last, but certainly not least, are the Las Vegas Raiders. This team is the wild card to make a run at Tua Tagovailoa in the 2020 NFL Draft. They have the capital in this draft (the 12th and 19th selections) to move ahead of the Dolphins to select Tua if they feel ready to do so.

The big question with the Raiders surrounds Derek Carr. Does Las Vegas believe that Carr is the guy going forward for this franchise? It’s hard to say, as he played fine in 2019, but hasn’t been a true difference-maker since that 2016 season.

We know that head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock like high character players, and Tua Tagovailoa is that type of guy. He’s a great leader and great person, along with being a great quarterback prospect.

As far as the fit, Gruden would have a coachable guy in house in Tua that can make all the throws. The offensive line is in place with Kolton Miller coming along at left tackle, Trent Brown holding it down on the right side, and top talents Rodney Hudson and Gabe Jackson on the interior.

Las Vegas also has Josh Jacobs holding it down at running back, a former teammate of Tua, and a stud tight end in Darren Waller under contract until 2024. The Raiders also have three third-round picks to get help at wide receiver in a very deep class. Watch out for these guys to make a move.
