Round 2, No. 55 Overall: Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU

Now we’re getting to the fun stuff Bills fans. The Buffalo Bills need a lot of help at the wide receiver position right now. Yes, John Brown has done very well for the Bills this season, catching 72 passes for 1,060 yards and six touchdowns. He’s been an elusive playmaker and a very good deep threat when he gets separation. Cole Beasley has been solid as well.

However, both players are small guys who work well in the middle of the field. It would be beneficial to find a deep threat that Josh Allen can throw the ball up to and trust he can make a play.

While it may not seem like Justin Jefferson is that type of player, I implore you to just hear me out. Jefferson isn’t the most imposing guy at 6’3″ and just 192 pounds. However, he can do a lot of things and would be an absolute steal at this point in the draft.

Jefferson has shown that he can vary his stride and pace and can work vertically down the field by hitting second gear. He’s a very good route runner with the change of direction and quickness to separate. Jefferson has also shown incredible ball skills with his ability to adjust to the football down the field and win in contested spots. He would work well with Allen here.
