Round 3, No. 87 Overall: Bradlee Anae, EDGE, Utah

The Buffalo Bills are in an interesting spot here in the third round. They’ve addressed the defensive interior, and have gotten a talented wide receiver to pair with Josh Allen. They aren’t yet done when it comes to wide receiver, but round three seems like a good spot to go the best player available.

Edge defender is another spot where the Bills could use some young talent. Shaq Lawson, Jerry Hughes, and Trent Murphy combined for just 16 sacks as a trio in 2019, which comes down to an average of just over five sacks for each guy. Those numbers aren’t difference-making, and with Lawson and Murphy set to hit free agency, now is the time.

Bradlee Anae would be a nice selection at this point in the draft. In 12 games in 2019, Anae racked up 13 sacks and 14 tackles for loss. He ripped through offensive tackles in the Pac 12 all season long.

Anae has a ton of potential as a pass rusher. He already has a number of moves he can employ when he gets off the snap. Anae can use his hands to keep tackles from latching on and can swipe and rip to get around the edge. He has a nice inside move and spin move as well. Adding Anae’s juice to the pass rush would be fun in Buffalo.
