Pick Analysis. LB. 5. 810. Scouting Report. Nebraska. Mohamed Barry. player

With their third and final fifth-round selection, the Chicago Bears bring in Nebraska linebacker Mohamed Barry. There is a lot to like about Barry’s game, as he immediately stands out as a playmaking linebacker on tape. He shows impressive sideline-to-sideline speed and closes on the ball extremely well.

Barry has tremendous competitive toughness, consistently flying around the field making plays. This guy never gives up on a play and always seems to be around the ball. He needs some development in coverage, but the skills are there for him to be good in that area as well. There are some tackling concerns with Barry, but if he can clean those up, he quickly becomes a tremendous defensive asset for whoever brings him in.

OT. Matthew Peart. player. Pick Analysis. UConn. 6. 892. Scouting Report

Matthew Peart is a 6-foot-7, 303-pound offensive lineman who has some of the longest arms in the entire 2020 NFL draft class. This guy has absolute vines for arms, which will obviously help in with pass protection at the next level. He also shows good movement skills and quick feet as both a run blocker and pass protector.

Peart undoubtedly needs to fill out his frame a bit, as he consistently lacks the necessary functional strength. His footwork and overall technique are also sloppy. This guy is undoubtedly a major project. That being said, his combination of size and athleticism makes him a project worth taking a chance on late in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Chicago Bears have needs at offensive tackle and Peart could grow into a major asset for the team down the line.

Pick Analysis. Steven Gonzalez. player. 806. Scouting Report. OL. Penn State. 7

With their final pick of this mock draft, the Chicago Bears find some more offensive line depth. Steven Gonzalez is a big and powerful offensive guard who gets off of the ball well and consistently drives defensive linemen off of the line of scrimmage. He creates rushing lanes with ease and anchors extremely well in pass protection.

Gonzalez is a powerful man, but he does not move particularly well. He does not reach the second level well and can have issues with speed rushers on the inside. He is a flawed player, but there are obvious strengths to his game as well. Not a bad guy to take a chance on in the seventh round.
