The New York Jets currently hold the 7th pick in this mock draft and take wide receiver CeeDee Lamb out of Oklahoma. The Jets could have taken an offensive tackle here, however, I believe that would be a bit of a reach especially considering both of the top tackle prospects are off the board in Andrew Thomas and Tristan Wirfs.

Lamb grades out exceptionally well in all traits, but the biggest thing that jumps off the screen when watching him play is his yards after catch ability. If you turn on any of his tape, I guarantee you will be blown away at how many big plays he has by simply making guys miss. His speed is undeniable but he can stop on a dime and change direction with ease. He is a naturally elusive player who also shows impressive contact balance.

The biggest reason why Jets fans should be happy with this selection is it gives their young quarterback a true number one receiver. Robby Anderson, who the Jets will look to re-sign, has been the top receiver for Darnold, but by adding CeeDee Lamb, they can form a nice group with Jamison Crowder in the slot.  Lamb could quickly become Darnold’s favorite target which would relieve some coverage off of Anderson and Crowder, freeing them for a big play.
