Scouting Report. UCF. Gabriel Davis. player. Pick Analysis. WR. 4. 44

Back in October, the Atlanta Falcons traded away Mohamed Sanu to the Patriots for a second-round pick, which now leaves them in need of some depth at the receiver position going forward.

A name I love as a potential get for Atlanta is UCF’s, Gabriel Davis.

Davis is a highly productive and reliable pass catcher that would provide the Falcons with another big target outside of Julio Jones.

In three years with the Knights, Davis has nabbed 152 balls for 2,447 yards and 23 touchdowns, proving to be a big-time deep ball threat in the process. In 2019, Davis has averaged 17.2 yards per reception and seems to come down with most 50/50 ball opportunities that come his way. He can exploit smaller corners with body positioning and can be a bully with his hands on his breaks.

Even with all of these positive traits, the combine will be big for Davis, as speed concerns always plague the tall, long-striders but I haven’t seen any reason to believe he can’t get by NFL corners.

If Davis is still on the board when the Atlanta Falcons are on the clock in the third round of the 2020 NFL mock draft, this should absolutely be the pick.
