Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 6. 878. S. Iowa. Geno Stone

Geno Stone is not a particularly impressive athlete at the safety position, but he does have enough speed and quickness to hold his own on the back-end. Stone’s mental capacity and on-field awareness give him a consistent advantage on the field. He does a great job of understanding route concepts and reading the opposing quarterback. Stone is also an extremely tough and physical defender who comes up defends against the run well.

The Carolina Panthers could bring in Stone and have him play some sort of third safety role. He is also a strong special teams player who could become a major contributor on all kick coverage teams. For a sixth-round selection, Stone is a guy who would make a ton of sense for the Panthers.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Tennessee. Jauan Jennings. WR. 7. player. 839

With D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel on the roster, I would not call wide receiver a major need for the Panthers. That being said, they could certainly use a guy who has some size on the outside.

Jauan Jennings is a 6-foot-3, 208-pound receiver who shows tremendous natural ball skills and great contested-catch ability. He has some speed on the outside but is far from a burner. Jennings can separate from man coverage, but his ability to win at the high-point is what makes him such an interesting fit for the Panthers.

Jennings would not be expected to come in and be a full-time starter or major contributor for Carolina, but if he hits, his strengths as a receiver would fill a need for size for the team at the position.
