2020 NFL Draft: Five teams who should target Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts
By Ian Higgins
The most polarizing prospect in college football and the 2020 NFL Draft, Jalen Hurts is a Heisman contender and an unpredictable NFL prospect. Who could utilize Hurts at the next level?
Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts has dominated college football with a stellar season and has put himself in a strong position in the 2020 NFL Draft. Hurts has posted 3,634 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on 71.8% completions. On the ground, Hurts has also collected a career-high 1,255 yards on 219 carries for 18 touchdowns.
This kind of dual-threat has been known to destroy college defenses but has not had the strongest history of translating to the next level where pure athleticism is matched by the world’s best. Hurts has shown the physical tools to be a competitive NFL quarterback, but still lacks the mental polish to operate a complete NFL offense.
With the recent outbreak of MVP-frontrunner Lamar Jackson, many have viewed Hurts as a viable option with his legs. Greg Roman and Baltimore have revolutionized the power-run, and are starting a new trend in the copycat league that is the NFL. Teams will be looking for their new Lamar, and Hurts is the first player in the draft that reflects all of those same qualities.

This article will focus on the five teams which will fit Jalen Hurts best for both his current playstyle and development for the future. Hurts may be best sitting in behind a veteran quarterback to become more complete on a mental level, but his athleticism will make him a viable starter from day 1 within the right offensive system.
