2020 NFL Draft: CeeDee Lamb is WR1 in this first-round mock draft
This has been one of the most frequent pairings in my 2020 NFL Draft mocks. I just love this fit for Tee Higgins. Higgins is a big-body receiver who can jump through the roof. While he isn’t the most polished route runner, he is effective and has great hands.
Higgins is effective in the red zone and on third down where he can shield off the defender with his huge frame. He has over 1,000 receiving yards on the season and 13 touchdowns, both career bests.
The Bills offense has been productive all season long. John Brown and Cole Beasley have proven to be valuable assets for Josh Allen and the Bills, but neither are quite the animal that Higgins is. Having a fast, tall, athletic receiver to just throw the ball up to would be amazing for Allen and his growth. As he continues to develop as a passer, giving him more and more weapons will only help him succeed going forward.
It’s been pretty clear to most over the past few years that the Kansas City Chiefs need to rebuild their secondary. This offseason they brought in a couple of very good pieces in Tyrann Mathieu and Juan Thornhill, but both play safety and not corner. They still need a guy (or two) that can lock down opposing wide receivers. C.J. Henderson has the potential to be one of the best in the league.
Henderson is a rather polarizing prospect who comes in all over the board when it comes to 2020 NFL Draft projections. Some have him as a top 10/15 player while others have him waiting until the second or third round to hear his name called.
Talent is not the question with Henderson. He is long, athletic and has phenomenal ball skills, as evidenced by his 11 pass breakups this season. He has fluid hips and great speed to stay with receivers for the entirety of their route.
Many believe that Henderson will need to fill out his frame with some more playing strength if he wants to thrive and stay healthy in the physical NFL. Some may question his effort at times, but if Henderson is there mentally, his physical tools make him one of the best prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft.
