53. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle. Alabama. player. Jedrick Wills Jr. . 17

The Cleveland Browns have had a glaring need all season long, and that is at offensive line. They have a solid center and a great left guard, but all three other positions on the line need to be upgraded badly. What better place to start than a solid, physical offensive tackle that could protect Baker Mayfield‘s blindside?

Jedrick Wills Jr. is rising up many 2020 NFL Draft big boards and mocks. His physical nature and 6-foot-5, 320-pounds body make him hard to move. He is agile enough to move his feet and stay in front of rushers but has the strength to manipulate any defender that he can get his hands on.

Wills has exclusively played right tackle at Alabama and could stay there in Cleveland if they opt to stick with Greg Robinson for the meantime or address the left side in free agency. He would undoubtedly be an upgrade at either tackle position but the right side of the line is the weakest part for Cleveland at this point.

If they do move him to left tackle, Wills has the skillset and learning capability to make a smooth transition. Playing alongside Joel Bitonio should certainly help with that, and future Hall-of-Famer Joe Thomas is only a phone call away. Whichever side he would end up playing on, he would be able to give Mayfield a little more peace of mind while back to throw and would also be able to open up more holes for one of the best running backs in football, Nick Chubb.

Like I mentioned with the Buccanneers secondary, this is just one piece the puzzle, and certainly not the only one missing. The play at all three spots that I mentioned has been so poor and so inconsistent that the Browns and John Dorsey need to address them all in some way this offseason. But Jedrick Wills Jr. would be a welcomed addition and a step in the right direction for the organization and their aspirations for 2020.
