Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Tua Tagovailoa. player. 59. Alabama. 4

After suffering a dislocated hip a few weeks ago, Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has become the single biggest wildcard in the 2020 NFL draft class. It was not long ago that Tua was considered the likely first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Now, we don’t even know if this guy will be taken in the first round.

With all of the uncertainty surrounding Tagovailoa right now, he is an incredibly difficult player to place in these mock drafts. That being said, I am going to assume that the Miami Dolphins are going to do their extremely due diligence and feel confident enough to take a chance on him here. With the fourth pick of this 2020 NFL draft scenario, the Dolphins make Tua Tagovailoa their franchise quarterback.

When it comes to on-field performance, Tua is a legitimately elite quarterback prospect. He is a smart player who understands how to read defenses and work through his progressions. He also shows solid mobility in and outside of the pocket and has more than enough arm talent to hit every throw at the next level.

The most impressive part of Tagovailoa’s game is his accuracy and overall ball placement. This guy can put it on a dime at all three levels and understands how to lead and protect his receivers with placement. He also does a great job of putting the proper touch on his passes.

When it comes down to it, Tua’s 2020 NFL draft stock all depends on how teams feel about the injury. If he recovers well and teams feel confident that there will not be any long-term issues, he will still go in the top five of the 2020 NFL Draft. If not, he could fall far down the board.
