LSU vs. Georgia SEC Championship: 5 2020 NFL Draft prospects to watch
Grant Delpit, S, LSU
LSU safety Grant Delpit is one of the most naturally gifted defensive players in the nation. He is an absolute playmaker on the back-end, showing an impressive combination of speed and athleticism at the safety position.
Delpit is great, but his performance this season has been lacking. In particular, he has struggled with tackling in space. Is this a major concern for the next level or has Delpit just not been giving it his all this season? If his tackling issues continue, Delpit could find himself falling down the 2020 NFL draft board. However, if he steps up and has a big game against Georgia, it could help him remain at the top of the first round.
K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE, LSU
LSU edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson is one of the most interesting defensive prospects in the 2020 NFL draft class. He is an absolute freak on the edge, showing an incredible combination of speed, length and overall athleticism. Chaisson gets off of the ball quickly and bends around the edge with ease. He consistently gets fantastic upfield burst in the pass rush and has obvious upside at an important position at the next level.
Chaisson is a bit of an inconsistent player, but it is easy to get excited about his raw skill-set. In this matchup against Georgia, Chaisson will have an opportunity to raise his 2020 NFL draft profile. If he can create consistent pressure against Thomas and the Georgia offensive line, Chaisson will likely become a sure-fire first-round selection.
