2020 NFL mock draft: Burrow or Young at No. 1? How far does Tua fall?
By Evan Bachman
The injury to Tagovailoa makes the Dolphins’ first selection very interesting. If they feel confident Tua will recover well, they could take him. They could also take Justin Herbert which would be a bit of a reach, or just take the best player available, which would be Jerry Jeudy at this point.
Last year Jeudy won the Biletnikoff award by catching 68 passes for 1315 yards and 14 touchdowns in 15 games. This year, he hasn’t produced quite as well with 71 catches for 959 yards and 9 touchdowns in 12 games and he wasn’t a finalist for the Biletnikoff. I don’t think there should be much concern over this because with the receiving talent surrounding him, it’s only natural that the ball is spread around more.
In a class loaded with receiving talent, Jeudy is the best of them all. Jeudy has excellent route-running and separation skills and has shown the ability to be special after the catch with elite elusiveness.
Jeudy is a special athlete showcased on a play in 2018 when he beat Ole Miss safety Zedrick Woods, who ran a 2019 combine best 4.29 40-yard dash, and was not caught from behind. In fact, Jeudy appeared to be pulling away from him at the end of the run.
