Scouting Report. Ohio State. 58. Pick Analysis. CB. Jeffery Okudah. 3. player

The Redskins could also be in a similar spot that the Cardinals were in last year. They took Dwayne Haskins at 15 last year, but he has struggled this season in limited action. While Tua Tagavailoa and Justin Herbert could both be considered upgrades, I don’t see them moving on from Haskins already, especially considering he doesn’t have much to work with on offense. Taking the best player available will probably be the strategy for Washington and that is Jeffery Okudah.

Cornerbacks like him don’t come along very often. According to Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller, NFL scouts believe he is a Jalen Ramsey-type of a prospect. In the past two drafts, the only cornerback to go in the top 15 picks was Okudah’s former teammate at Ohio State Denzel Ward, who went fourth overall to the Cleveland Browns in 2018.

Many knocked Okudah coming into the year because he hadn’t recorded an interception yet at Ohio State, causing questions about his ball skills to arise. However, he put those to rest this season with two diving interceptions and one pick made literally while laying on his back. His ball skills are for real

PFF’s evaluation of Okudah tells you why he’s such a coveted prospect, “Watching Okudah’s tape, you can’t help but wonder if he was created in a lab somewhere to play the cornerback position. Listed at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, Okudah has elite size, length, speed, change of direction and leaping ability.”
