Round 2, 35th Overall: KJ Hamler, WR, Penn State

With their early second-round selection, the Dolphins find Tua a weapon in the passing game. KJ Hamler is an extremely quick and explosive receiver who is incredibly difficult to stop in the open field. Hamler has elite short-area quickness and elusiveness in the open field. He is a precise route runner who can stop and start on a dime, naturally creating separation with ease.

Once the ball is in his hands, he uses his elite combination of skills to make defenders miss in space. He also has the raw speed to take it to the house from anywhere on the field. Hamler is certainly a bit on the small side, likely forcing him to the slot at the next level. That being said, he is such a gifted player that he would undoubtedly be able to make an impact for the Dolphins.

Round 2, 62nd Overall: C.J. Henderson, CB, Florida

The Miami Dolphins have gotten strong play out of rookie cornerback Nik Needham this season. Needham paired with Xavien Howard gives the Dolphins a strong cornerback duo to build their defense around. That being said, they still lack legitimate depth at the position.

With their other second-round selection, the Dolphins select Florida cornerback C.J. Henderson. While he is not the most physical cornerback in the draft, Henderson has great coverage skills. He is a tremendous man-to-man defender who has obvious upside at the next level. In Henderson, the Dolphins find a talented player at an important defensive position.

Round 3, 67th Overall: J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State

I’d be surprised if the Dolphins did not take a running back in the 2020 NFL Draft. They have plenty of running back snaps available and it would be wise to do find a talented player to develop with those snaps. In this mock draft, the Dolphins bring in Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins.

Dobbins has taken his game to the next level this season, carrying the ball 219 times for 1,446 yards and 15 touchdowns. He is an extremely shifty runner who is quick to and through the hole and can make defenders miss in space. Dobbins also shows plenty of ability as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. Simply put, Dobbins is an extremely talented back who should be a productive player at the next level. Nice snag by the Miami Dolphins here.
