Previewing the Thanksgiving Day NFL matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills.

In a rematch of back-to-back Super Bowls in the early 90s, the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills will face off in a Thanksgiving Day matchup. These two teams have only played 12 times in NFL history and have not played each other since 2015. Buffalo is a bit of an odd matchup for the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, but this should be an interesting game.

The 6-5 Cowboys are coming off of a tough loss to the New England Patriots, but enter this game as home favorites. Dak Prescott has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this season and he is leading one of the most explosive and productive offenses in the NFL. The Cowboys currently lead the NFL in total yards per game (433.4) and are sixth in points scored per game (26.8).

Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys will have their hands full against this Buffalo Bills defense. The Bills are not as dominant as the Patriots on the defensive side of the ball, but they have impact players at all three levels. They have a solid run defense and one of the best pass defenses in the entire NFL (184.3 passing yards allowed per game).

The marquee matchup will be when Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper take on that tough Bills defense but do not sleep on the excitement factor of Josh Allen. The Bills do not have the most productive offensive attack, but Allen is a true playmaker with the ball in his hands. His combination of arm strength and mobility at the quarterback position makes him a threat to make a play from anywhere on the field.

Allen should be fun to watch, but if the Bills are going to win this game, it will likely be on the strength of their defense. While Buffalo has a better record (8-3 compared to 6-5), the Dallas Cowboys are clearly the more talented team in this game. Can Buffalo continue to come away with these unlikely victories or will America’s Team take care of business at home?
