27. Green Bay Packers: Devonta Smith, WR, Alabama

It’s no secret that the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers are desperate for wide receiver help, as they have had a lot of issues with durability and consistency at the position this season.

So with the 27th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, I have the Packers getting Rodgers a new weapon in Devonta Smith out of Alabama.

I don’t think anybody expected the production that we’ve seen from Devonta Smith in 2019, as he has outperformed Jerry Jeudy, who is the top player at the position on most boards. Smith has racked up crazy numbers through 11 games, totaling 60 catches for 1,120 yards and 13 touchdowns. He had two games this season where he went over the 200-yard mark and in one of those, he scored 5 touchdowns.

The argument can be made that the attention Jeudy demands has freed up Smith but that doesn’t take away from the skills he has displayed all season long. He’s an absolute burner when in space, has shown an advanced route tree and can track the ball like a pro already.

Smith would provide the Packers with a slot option that can give them the consistency and playmaking ability they so desperately need.
