Miami Dolphins 2020 mock draft: Does Tua injury change approach?
Round 3, No. 68 Overall: Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU
It’s now important for the Miami Dolphins to find contributors in these middle rounds, because in reality, finding quality starters in this part of the draft is difficult. However, they might have done it with these two selections.
Xavien Howard is a very good corner who is borderline elite for Miami. He should be back next season and contribute in a big way. Nik Needham has been a pleasant surprise as well, but they need more help.
Jeff Gladney has a lot of potential in this cornerback class. He’s very athletic and has great quickness and footwork to mirror receivers. Gladney also has great ball skills, having 12 passes defended and one interception on the season.
Round 5, No. 144 Overall: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU
It’s a little bit of a wait after their third-round pick, but they still find a way to find someone who can contribute right away. In a deep running back class, Clyde Edwards-Helaire is good value in round five, and the Dolphins definitely need help at running back. He’s got great lateral quickness and a vicious spin move, while also the drive to pick up yardage after contact. With the offensive line forming in front of him, he should get the opportunity to succeed.
