Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. CeeDee Lamb. 1. 815. Wide Receiver. Oklahoma

As a side in the introduction, former-LSU Tiger Chark has finally put things together this season and is quickly becoming a top weapon for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite this, I still think if Jacksonville wants the most out of Minshew, should they choose to move forward with him, they need to surround him with talent. I would say the tight end position is still thin for them but there isn’t one I would deem worthy of a selection this early.

Luckily for them, the 2020 NFL Draft is loaded with receiver talent, so they shouldn’t have any trouble choosing one. Here at 13, I have given them CeeDee Lamb from Oklahoma,  easily one of the best receivers in the entire class.

The thing that stands out about Lamb is his elite, that’s right his elite, ball skills. What he lacks in overall speed (which is not to say he’s slow), he makes his ability to concentrate on the ball and make some incredible catches. Lamb’s ability to make contested catches with relative ease makes him a must-have if you want to help out a young quarterback.

Lamb’s route running is another part of his game that I think is sorely underrated. While yes, Big 12 corners aren’t always the best, the way he uses swift releases to separate from his opponents is something quite special. His ability to make like movements here and there in his routes leave me impressed, which also makes me curious about his testing numbers.

While I could see the Jacksonville Jaguars going one or two different ways with this pick, pairing Lamb with the likes of Chark, Chris Conely and Dede Westbrook would be hard to pass up.
