Scouting Report. Mississippi State. 2. 893. Pick Analysis. IOL. Darryl Williams. player

The addition of Wirfs certainly helps, but the Browns still have more work to do on their offensive line. Starting center J.C. Tretter is set to hit free agency this offseason. If he leaves, the Browns suddenly have a massive hole in the middle of their offensive line. Even if the Browns can bring him back, they could still use some help on the interior.

With their second-round selection of this 2020 NFL draft scenario, the Cleveland Browns go back to the offensive line, selecting Darryl Williams out of Mississippi State.

Williams is quick off of the ball and powerful at the point of attack. He is an extremely tough and physical player who shows extremely strong hands and finishes extremely well. Once Williams gets his hands on a defender, it is typically game over as he drives the defender down the field and away from the ball.

Williams makes sense for the Browns no matter what happens in free agency. If Tretter decides to move on, Williams could step in as the next starting center for Cleveland. If the Browns are able to retain Tretter, Williams would be an immediate upgrade for the team at right guard.

The offensive line is such an obvious need for the Browns that I would not be surprised to see them double-dip at the position early in the 2020 NFL Draft.
