OT. Tristan Wirfs. Pick Analysis. Iowa. 1. player. 878. Scouting Report

The biggest mistake that the Cleveland Browns made this past offseason was putting so much stock into Greg Robinson and Chris Hubbard as their starting offensive tackles. In the moment, it seemed like the Browns were setting themselves short at offensive tackle and that quickly proved to be true.

In this 2020 NFL draft scenario, the Browns make offensive line an immediate priority by taking Iowa offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs. Wirfs is the first offensive lineman off of the board in this mock draft and would immediately come in and be a strong starter for Cleveland up front.

Wirfs is a freak athlete on the offensive line, showing a ridiculous combination of power and athleticism. He is incredibly strong at the point of attack and does a great job of controlling the opposing defender when engaged.

On top of that, Wirfs moves extremely well for a big and powerful man. Wirfs is quick off of the ball and shows the ability to reach the second level with ease. In pass protection, Wirfs mirrors opposing rushers extremely well and shows a powerful, accurate punch that stops defenders in their tracks.

Wirfs has primarily played right tackle throughout his college career but did spend a few games at left tackle earlier this season, filling in for an injured teammate. Wirfs was just as dominant on the left side as he is on the right. Any team that wants to draft him as a franchise left tackle should do so with complete confidence.

In this 2020 NFL draft scenario, the Cleveland Browns bring in Wirfs to be their immediate and long-term starter at the left tackle position.
