Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins will make his first career start this week against the Buffalo Bills.

The Washington Redskins will trot out rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins to make his first career start against the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN. With fellow Redskins quarterback Case Keenum being inactive for the time being due to a concussion, this gives a great opportunity for Haskins to showcase his talent to a credible team like the Bills.

Considering the Bills hold an impressive record of 5-2 of this season, this game may determine how much of an asset Haskins is to this Washington Redskins team.

Haskins was a well-accomplished quarterback out of Ohio State and he was also awarded the 2019 Rose Bowl MVP. Although he was a major college standout in 2018, some could say that Dwayne Haskins has had a rocky start as an NFL quarterback. In regards to his current performance, it’s worth mentioning that he’s racked up a total of four interceptions during the first two NFL games of his career.

However, one must not count out Haskins just because of a few poor performances. Although the Redskins hold an unimpressive record of 1-7, the 22-year old rookie still has a lot of potential to progress over time. And if Haskins can lead the Washington Redskins to a victory over a team like this Bills this Sunday, then it will certainly do wonders for his stock as a valuable NFL quarterback.

While it is unknown at this time if Haskins will be starting for the Redskins after Week 9, interim coach Bill Callahan seems to be pretty optimistic about the progress Haskins is making as ESPN reports. Despite the rough start to his career, the Washington Redskins are hopeful that Haskins can turn it around. Will he eventually become a major breakout quarterback as he did in college? The answer to that question has still yet to be seen.
