QB. Joe Burrow. 48. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LSU. 9

LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has been fantastic this season and has established himself as one of the premier prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft. On the year, Burrow has completed an incredible 78.8 percent of his passes for 2,805 yards, 30 touchdowns and four interceptions. He is undoubtedly one of the best players in college football and a prime candidate for the Heisman Trophy.

Burrow could easily be a top-three pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he does fall a bit in this mock. The teams who will be looking for a quarterback are still unknown. After Cincinnati and Miami, there simply were not any great spots to fit Burrow in, until the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came on the clock at number nine.

Jameis Winston will hit the open market as a free agent this offseason, and if the Bucs think they have a chance to replace him, they would be wise to let him go. Winston has been a turnover machine and far too inconsistent throughout his NFL career. It would be best for both sides to go their separate ways.

Tampa Bay now turns to Burrow to lead them into the future. Burrow is an extremely precise and accurate passer who can hit receivers in stride all over the field. He also shows the ability to put the proper touch on his passes when needed and fires the ball into tight spaces with velocity when the situation calls.

His ability to stay calm and maneuver in the pocket when under pressure is also extremely impressive. Burrow does a great job of escaping pressure and keeping his eyes downfield to find the big play. He is also an extremely smart quarterback prospect who never seems to make the wrong read.

Simply put, Burrow has proven himself to be one of the best quarterbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft class. He is a legitimate threat to take that top spot from Tagovailoa and while he does slide a bit here, landing with the Bucs would be an ideal situation for Burrow.
