Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins increased his 2020 NFL Draft stock with an impressive performance against a tough Wisconsin defense.

We knew that Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins had a chance to drastically improve his 2020 NFL Draft stock this week. Dobbins and the Buckeyes were facing a tough test against Big Ten rival Wisconsin. The Badgers entered this game with far-and-away the best defense in college football, allowing only 7.6 points per game before facing Ohio State. They also had the best run defense in FBS, allowing only 58.4 rushing yards per contest.

Ohio State was able to put on a show against this tough Wisconsin defense, coming away with an easy 38-7 home victory. Their offense was led by Dobbins, who carried the ball 20 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns.

Dobbins was absolutely incredible against that dominant Wisconsin defense, racking up big play after big play. He did a fantastic job of finding gaps in the defense and showed tremendous burst through the hole. Dobbins showed off his obvious elusiveness in the open field and even made an impact in the passing game, catching three passes for 58 yards on the day.

Dobbins was the primary reason for the Buckeyes’ important victory over Wisconsin on Saturday and drastically improved his 2020 NFL draft stock with the performance. The top three running backs in the 2020 NFL Draft (D’Andre Swift, Jonathan Taylor and Travis Etienne) had seemed to separate themselves from the pack. Dobbins may not have done enough to break that top three yet, but he is undoubtedly starting to put himself in the conversation.
