1. DE Vic Beasley to the Colts for 2020 3rd round pick

Vic Beasley was a first-round pick by the Falcons in the 2015 NFL draft and is in the last year of his contract after the Falcons picked up his fifth-year option. He’s making $12.8 million and instead of him walking into free agency the Atlanta Falcons can pick up a draft pick for him to help the team next season. The Colts make the most sense for Beasley as they lack playmakers that can rush the quarterback.

Beasley has struggled since the 2016 season when he totaled 15.5 sacks and has slowly been declining since then. In both 2017 and 2018, he has only tallied five sacks in each of those seasons. To start off 2019 he only has recorded1.5 sacks through seven games. I believe a change of scenery will be best for both teams and he can step in the rotation in Indianapolis with Justin Houston and Jabaal Sheard being the one-two punch.

While the Falcons’ first priority before the trade deadline should be moving Beasley, they may not get what they want in return for him. I think the Colts will offer the most with a third-round pick but I expect one or two other teams to make a push for his services. If Beasley is moved I’d expect a lot more playing time from rookie John Cominsky who the Atlanta Falcons took in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
