Scouting Report. OT. Andrew Thomas. 30. Pick Analysis. Georgia. 5. player

The New York Jets could go in many different directions with their first-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. They have obvious needs at edge rusher, wide receiver and cornerback that must be addressed at some point. However, their needs on the offensive line stand out more than any other position.

Andrew Thomas is arguably the top offensive line prospect in the 2020 NFL draft class. He is undoubtedly a legitimate left tackle at the next level who could come in and start at the blindside position right away.

Thomas is a big, long and powerful offensive lineman who excels as both a run blocker and pass protector. In the run game, he gets off of the ball quickly, uses shows relatively quick feet and is powerful at the point of attack. He shows a powerful punch and tremendous natural grip strength when engaged.

The Georgia product also has quick feet in pass protection, getting into his pass sets quickly and moving his feet well against speed. He also shows an elite ability to dig in and anchor against the bull rush.

Simply put, Thomas is an incredibly talented offensive lineman who the Jets could bring in and start at left tackle right away. Having him to protect the blindside of Sam Darnold would only help the development of the young quarterback.
